Just to add my grain of salt on this issue, the price should be made context-sensitive just like the quantity available is.
The reason is that when you browse your stock locations and set a dates context, currently you get the available quantity à that date but the current price.
This would make it easy for example to extract the valuation of a yearly physical inventory (for those who make the accounting entries at the end of the fiscal year).

We're willing to help any work being done on this issue, as long as a reliable solution is found. Please let us know.
