I don't agree with you as well as this is not a generalise issue that's why we can not consider this as a bug.

Note: When you reported a bug then provide the enough/ required information for that bug, otherwise It's very time consuming for bug management policy.

of course it is a general issue

if an form is opened for data entry and there is a mandatory m2o field with only ONE possible value (restircted by domain) this should be set automatically, as the user can not choose anything else

this is true for ALL lot creation operations (m2o) which are donw from a resources with product_id

Yes, you are right . As per your comment#2 which is the current behaviour.

But I am sorry you don't provided the expected behaviour. There is only one domain which is "type <> service", So rather than service type's product we can select any one for data entry as you specified.

That's why again we requesting you provide what's the problem generated in current behaviour and what's your expected behaviour.

automatically fill a mandatory field if the user has only ONE item to select.

Context was not pass from xml file there fore this bug produce,here i attach patch also.Let me know if I miss something.

in my stock_view.xml (6.1) there is no group "group_production_lot"

and yes
adding context="{'product_id':product_id}"
in 4 places where prodlot_id (not prod_lot_id which in only in inventory where usually no lots should be created) is called
solves the problem
