Chart of accounts always includes entries from current fiscal year

Bug Description

I've got 2 fiscal years in my database: 2009, 2010. I'm using version 5.0.11.

When I open a chart of accounts for fiscal year 2009 it includes the new entries for 2010 as well, although these entries are linked to a period belonging to fiscal year 2010.
The chart of accounts for 2010 contains only the correct entries.
Is it possible that the chart of accounts is always adding the entries of the current fiscal year, disregarding the fact that a different fiscal year was selected in the wizard?

Hello Kristof Boden,

Well everything works fine with us.
It strictly follows the respective fiscal year.

Would you please elaborate about the steps you follow and the configuration of your system?

I've been working on fiscal year 2009 with monthly periods for company A in a multi-company setup until June 30th.
On the 1st of July I created a new fiscal year for 2010. In the meanwhile some invoices and bank statements have been processed which are linked to the first period of the new fiscal year (july 2010). Fiscal year 2009 is still open.

Now I try to consult the chart of accounts of fiscal year 2009. I open the wizard (Financial Mgmt / Charts / Chart of accounts), enter the fiscal year 2009 and choose to see All Entries. I drill down to my suppliers account and notice that the total amount already shows a number including my purchases from July. When I open the account it returns the entry lines belonging to period July 2010 on top of the list.

I already checked the chart of accounts wizard. It puts the selected fiscal year into the context. I would expect this context to filter out all account entries not belonging to this fiscal year.

If you need any further information, please let me know.

Kind Regards
Kristof Boden

Hello Kristof,

This isn't the actual behaviour.
Things work perfectly for us.

Would you please provide with a screen-shot to trace the problem at your end?

well, there has been a little confusion at my end. It seems that the calculated totals in the chart do correspond to the selected fiscal year. However, when I select a specific account from the chart to view the detailed entry lines, the system displays all entry lines for the selected account (regardless of the fiscal year selection). If this is the intended behavior, than you can close this bug report. On the other hand, I still think it's a little confusing to loose the fiscal year context at this point.

Kind regards
Kristof Boden

Hello Kristof,

I would make it more clear for you.

When you go through Financial Management/Configuration/Financial Accounting/Financial Accounts/Chart of Accounts, this option doesn't care for a fiscal year and you would see all the entries disrespecting the fiscal year.

But, when you go through Financial Management/Charts/Chart of Accounts, it would filter the entries/chart of account with the context of selected fiscal year(if selected from many2one). and the entry lines after clicking on any account afterwards should respect the old context and it does really.

If the case is not happening at your end, I would call it a bug.

In normal scenario, we have checked again ,it doesn't lose context.

We will appreciate your contribution if it is really a bug. Please recheck.
