Can no longer search for customer number (res.partner.ref) in most forms

In 7.0 you can no longer search for the partner number (res.partner.ref) in most forms

In Version previous to 7 it was nearly in every form (Sales Order, Purchase ...) possible to search for the Customer number also. In a lot of companies the people know the number better then the customer name itself and often enough it is a part of project numbers and so on. We think it is a big loss that it is no longer possible to search for the customer / supplier number.

I agree with Michael on this issue.

In many countries there are a lot of people with the same name, in US you can have a lot of Jones or Smit, in Belgium Peeters, Janssens and so on ... In this cases it's very important to have a number. Some users also have a system in it, eg. partners starting with L/... or P/... and so on ...

When you use the search in version 7.0 you can have 7 or 8 or maybe 20 times the same name and it's impossible to find the partner you want unless you open them all ...

At least the city (or maybe even the street) should be displayed so people can pick the right partner (important for delivery address and so on).

I think Jingnesh was to fast to send this to the dungeons of wishlist.

Yup, Peter is absolutely right...

There are in most of country the persons name and surname both are same, So its difficult to search them based on their name as well as surname. On previous version we have a facility to search the partner based on its code/ref.

I would like to suggest to Jignesh please make the accurate for this kind of issue..... Exactly this is not a bug but its useful thing for any kind of system.

That's why I am going to raise the importance of this bug.

Im sorry but i think my initial request was misunderstood:

I want to be able to search for res.partner.ref in all forms no matter if sales or purchase or whatever - i did not even talk about the search box for list views - it is very easy to add this field to a list view and the corresponding search view BUT where i really need to search for the res.partner.ref is when i select the custommer in the sales form view or the purchase form view or the project or task form view and as far as i can see the changes made this is still not working?!?

Ok, So this need a major changes and its improvement for the new version. That's why we will consider this as a feature roadmaps.

We already changed the search function by our own but since i dondt know launchpad enough it would be nice if you could help me what the "right" way woud be to show / propose our code changes?
