or ''
to the template to avoid error

if nothing is specified and the field is not mandatory

The fix that was merged is not only wrong but has nothing to do with the reported bug. The bug is about "email templates", not "account templates": the email.template for notifying customers of their new invoices should better handle null values for non required fields, e.g "Contact: False" is not pretty.
