Bug Description

From http://openlp.org/en/forums/general-support/troubleshooting/vlc-working-cant-get-movie-play-web-interface-or-android-app

When going live on a media item it defaults to paused. This causes a problem when running from the web or Android remote. The remote should automatically play the item if the screen is not blank.
If the screen is initially blank, unblanking should automatically play it.

I dont think, this is the right solution!

First of all the problem could be avoided with the following setting:
Menu: Settings->Configure OpenLP...->General Tab->Application Settings->"Unblank display when adding new live item"
If this checkbox is checked items which are sent to live will automatically unblank and start playing! (this is the same behaviour as for other plugins)

On the other hand it is needed to implement the media buttons for web-remote and the android app.

But in my opinion its a wish request and not a bug.

Are you saying that if the request comes from the Web then the media should always start regardless of the "Unblank and start setting"

The ideal solution would be to have a Play api and for the remotes to offer a means to activate it.
But failing this, then second choice would be to automatically play it, since it's a bit silly being able to go live on media if you then can't see/hear it.

i write a patch for adding play and stop button to the web interface. It only comes up on the slide panel when media is there.
It adds two web api calls (/api/controller/{live/preview}/play and /api/controller/{live/preview}/stop) and adds a ismedia flag to the /api/controller/{live/preview}/text call. I don't understand the translation api, so the "Play" and "Stop" in the index.html is hardcoded.
