Bug Description

After the recent change to remove X11BypassWindowManagerHint, switching away from the OpenLP application now causes the MainDisplay window to disappear.

However going into the settings and changing the monitor to screen 1, saving and then back to Screen 2 works around this issue. Perhaps therefore we might be able to create the MainDisplay later in the program startup to prevent this problem?

There must be a path issue.
Initial setup does something different to rebuild following config change. What ever happens was in the two weeks prior to the 1.9.8 release.

I've tried calling the same thing, but it didn't appear to make a difference. I also had a time when switching monitors workaround didn't work, but then a second attempt did work. Very odd.

Another workaround for now, although I have no idea what the side effects might be is to:

$ export XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=Unity

prior to starting OpenLP from the commandline.

To resolve this, a setting has now been added on the Advanced tab of the settings to set or unset the X11 bypass window manager flag. Linux users will need to set this to whichever setting works best for them.
