Split Verse should have option to force the split

Sometimes a verse needs to be split for readability issues and not just because it doesn't fit the screen. Please provide a facility for inserting an actual split in a verse and not just a hint on where to split if needed. Multiple <br>'s are a workaround but it takes several rounds of trial and error to get the correct number of them. It would be better if there were some way to just say "always split here."

Songs can be split at present by using verse splits.

What is the problem with using this feature.

Which version of OpenLP are you using.

I'm using 1.9.6 build 1758.

Verse splits split the verse only if the verse will not fit on one page. The way they appear to work is as more of a hint saying "If you have to split the verse, split it here." If the verse fits on the display page, OpenLP ignores the verse split and shows the whole verse on one display page.

What I'm asking for is a way to say "Split the verse here" regardless of whether the verse would fit on one display page or not.

There are often other reasons besides space to split a verse between multiple display pages. These have to do with fitting the lyrics displayed to the musical phrasing and also readability.

I'm attaching a .png showing how the Verse Split is currently ignored if the verse fits on one page.

You can force a split by selecting "Insert" from the "Edit Verse" screen. When adding a verse, keep the verse number the same. This will result in 2 (or more) slides with the same verse number. I do this a lot for our songs.

That's exactly what I need. But build 1758 doesn't show Insert on the Edit Verse screen for me.

That button is only available when EditAll is selected not Edit.
EditAll allows for slides to be rearranged
Edit is to change the text on an individual slide.
