Transition is not used when "blanking to ..."

Bug Description

Hello,

when you use a theme with "transition" enabled, I'd expect the "blank to ..." to use the transition as well. But currently this is not the case, which looks odd when you "blank to..." as it happens suddenly but the slide changes are smooth.

Blanking is not connected to the transition code. May require a re-write to get this to work.

There are plans to implement this "functionality" (smooth transition to 'blank screen')?

Visually, is very important that this transition happens gently.

Probably answer is No. Can't tell you exactly, depends of release deadline and my ability to finish it.
