Bug Description

I use Windows XP SP3. At first, 1.9.1 worked (and perhaps 1.9.2). If I remember well, it said "bug ... " but worked. But at this time however 1.9 I use, (1.9.1 to 1.9.4) it crashes after the splash screen. Sometimes after launching ppt, sometimes before. I have erased every file and directory linked to openlp, in program files or documents and settings, even cleaned the registry, nothing works.
Attached is the log file.
Could you give me some hint ?
I attached the log file.

Hmm, is that the complete log file? It seems to come to an abrupt end. Would you be able to provide a log file from one of those occasions where it gets as far as launching ppt before crashing? Ta

OK thanks. Appears to have crashed doing the same thing, but this time it succeeded the first time, but crashed when it later passed through the same point. Very odd.

If you're able, could you just give the latest development version a try http://www.openlp.org/files/latest.exe
Not sure it'll make much difference, but it would be useful to check it still occurs in the most recent build.

Thanks.

Sorry please disregard that request, just seen the version number on the top of that log shows you are running the latest!

The place it's crashing appears to be during initialisation of the output screen. It does a fair few things here, and without adding lots more debug messages, it'll be difficult to work out where exactly it's going wrong.

Most likely candidate could be to do with video, since there is some initialisation of this here, and we've had problems in the area of videos before.

Do you have any codec packs installed, or an unusual graphics/sound card and or drivers, or have you had any issues in this area before on your PC? *clutching at straws*

Could this be related to the QPaint i reported on IRC last night? If so i narrowed it down to line 842-844 in ui\servicemanager.py. But I wouldn't count on it as im running it on windows ;-)

The one time so far that I've successfully been able to start OpenLP from within eric on Windows, I got a QPaint error at around the same place as the OP. (Runs fine from command line).

Since then I've been completely unable to start OpenLP in eric, don't know why. So I don't know if there is race condition of some sort going on behind the scenes or something.
