Bug Description

I am unable to get linked audio to play for songs in 2.4 (upgrading from the .deb file in comments on announcement post). We had no issues in 2.3. Terminal posts 'defaultServiceProvider::requestService(): no service found for - "org.qt-project.qt.mediaplayer"'.

Ubuntu 15.10

I have been able to duplicate the same behavior on a second system, also running Ubuntu 15.10.

Could you try to install libgstreamer? My guess is that it is missing, or that some gstreamer plugins to decode the audio is missing.

I have verified that libgstreamer is installed. Is there a particular version/plugin(s) I should be looking for?

I just came by an Ubuntu 15.10 machine and tested a bit... I see the same issue as you mention, including the terminal post and media not playing with the system-player (which also powers the linked-audio-player).
After a bit of googling I tried to install libqt5multimedia5-plugins, but that just replaced the original terminal warning with some GLib/GStreamer errors. And then OpenLP just hangs at the splash-screen...
This new problem seems to be similar to this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/music-app/+bug/1363314

So for now my conclusion is: QtMultimedia support is broken on Ubuntu 15.10.

I solved this problem on Ubuntu 16.04 installing these packages:

sudo apt install qml-module-qtmultimedia ubuntu-restricted-extras

Thanks so much Daniel. This install worked to fix the same problem with linked media on my install as well. Thanks
