animated powerpoint poor response

Bug Description

Running on Windows 7 pro/64 bit, with MS Office 2010, and latest download (05/01/2013) of Openlp 2.0

Load a presentation into an order of service, and step through one slide at a time:
Normal Powerpoint presentations step between slides at an acceptable speed.
Repeat, but with animated slides (not timed)
Animated slides however are very slow to respond, taking several seconds to add the next part slide. Obviously this is at best distracting, but at worst can lead to the operator clicking away furiously and so skipping multiple steps of the presentation.

I'm not sure there is anything we can do about this, we're just making use of the PowerPoint API and do very little ourselves inbetween.

Please could those with the problem attach an example PowerPoint to this bug report. Thanks.

I have experienced the same problem on Linux with libre office and

One suggestion would be to have the option to turn off the previews that would mean less processing between slides!

I will attach an example Powerpoint to the bug this Sunday, but does OpenLP
only grab preview images when the preview pane is on? If so, Tim's
suggestion could be employed right now.
