need API hook for marcxml format

Karen can create a template that would return OL records from the RESTful API in MARCXML. There needs to be a hook in the code that recognizes ".marcxml" as a format and will use a "marcxml.tmpl" to format the response to the API request.

Is this still required? We have to decide if we're going to server MARC XML. I think the conclusion was to provide MARC records for Internet Archive scanned books, but not to generate new MARC XML.

If we want libraries to be able to download records for their own use, they need to be in MARC binary or MARC XML, which are the only formats the library systems can import. If that *isn't* a desired OL service, then the current JSON output is probably sufficient, but won't get many library users. If we offer the scanned books in MARC, that should probably be a bulk download. If some items are available as MARC from the OL screens, it would be good to make that a selection point (like the one for scanned books) so those items can be easily singled out by people looking to download records.
