Bug Description

I found a listing for "Portrait and Biographical Record of Lehigh, Northampton, and Carbon Counties, PA" 1894, but the links to view or download it BOTH send me instead to "Portrait and Biographical Album of Jackson, Jefferson, and Pottawatomie Counties Kansas." So the links are to the WRONG scanned book.

Confirmed, OL record is http://openlibrary.org/b/OL22890290M

Scan is http://openlibrary.org/details/portraitbiographi00chic

Archive item is http://www.archive.org/details.php?identifier=portraitbiographi00chic

This is an error in the IA metadata. I will ask today about how to turn the report over to the collections group.

Can point people at http://www.archive.org/about/faqs.php#Report_Item and close bugs like this?

I think we ought to maintain our own tracking of issues like this, at least for a while, or at least have a way to formally turn them over to another group. It's like if some Ubuntu user finds a bug in the "cat" command and enters it into Ubuntu's bug tracker. Ubuntu doesn't (or at least shouldn't) just tell the user to report it upstream and wash their hands of it.

I emailed this particular bug to the IA collections manager back when it was reported, if that helps. She said that was the right thing to do, and she then works with the scanning centers and/or the sponsoring library to get it straightened out. I'm not sure what happens after that.

Thank you. Thank you,
I am very glad to see that someone else is following up on this, because I had not planned to pursue it further. I figured I had done my bit by bringing the bug to someone's attention, and even got a confirmation message. So I assumed it was being handled and that I would not have to do anything more.
I love using digital books, but do not often have the patience to pursue such problems.

I think we ought to maintain our own tracking of issues like this, at
least for a while, or at least have a way to formally turn them over to
another group.  It's like if some Ubuntu user finds a bug in the "cat"
command and enters it into Ubuntu's bug tracker.  Ubuntu doesn't (or at
least shouldn't) just tell the user to report it upstream and wash their
hands of it.

was reported, if that helps.  She said that was the right thing to do,

library to get it straightened out.  I'm not sure what happens after
that.
