Bug Description

I have an experimental search API running on a dev server but the command set is not yet chosen. Right now it's just api/search/q=(text query)&prettyprint=true (pretty print arg is optional) but it should instead take a json query allowing advanced search, facet selection, etc. Please feel free to use this ticket to discuss desired API features. Also, a few people have wanted SRU, while a lot of others think it's bogus. Feel free to weigh in if you have a view on this.
