Kernel memory allocation failure resulted in vRouter module install failure

Bug Description

Details:

 Unable to load vrouter kernel module

Reason:

Not enough kernel memory to allocate

 from the vrouter logs:
error was
modprobe vrouter
FATAL: Error inserting vrouter (/lib/modules/3.8.0-31-generic/updates/dkms/vrouter.ko): Cannot allocate memory

Action:

Clear shared memory allocation
root@hostname:~# sync; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

Just hit the same issue. Confirmed that running sync; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches solves the issue.
