Bug Description

Johnny has made this list of old clipart to be moved over: http://openclipart.org/wiki/Authorlist

Johnny, what needs to be done?

Also, what other clipart are we missing???

There might be old cliparts lost in the contest and also on upload saved in a big log file.

I'll do a good spot review of files that should be on the 2.0 site and see if they are there. My understanding is the names that have been struck through should have all of their files on the site now having been uploaded by the librarian whose name follows the entry.

Other missing clipart on first look seems date related. My older stuff is there but uploads seem missing from the past few months. Again this is just looking personally at my files and what i've found.

cool, lets consider the bug the defacto place to track this stuff now.

It looks like all of my stuff has shown up now. Looks like most recent files uploaded under anonymous are John Cliff, Jean-Victor Balin and Francesco Rollandin. None of these are marked off of our authorlist as being fully uploaded. I think papapishu was uploading all of these. Maybe she'll get back involved and help pick up the thread. Otherwise I'll look for the stopping points and finish them up after things settle down.

Well now, its easier to automate import...

Actually, tracked these down from the roadmap:

** release 0.18 + the additional images that were put away in preperation for the first 0.19 release
*** http://download.openclipart.org/downloads/openclipart-clipart-2007-02-05.tar.gz
** the collection has been sorted by author - this includes all files except those in the incoming folder. Please download your old files from the following link and upload them to the current OCAL site:
*** http://homepage.mac.com/johnny_automatic/FileSharing27.html or http://tinyurl.com/2bu2ue
** We are tracking the transfer of files from the old archive to the new OCAL site on this page:
*** http://openclipart.org/wiki/authorlist - please strike through your name when you have uploaded your files to the current site.
** all the images that were in the incoming folder from the old site
*** http://download.openclipart.org/downloads/openclipart-incoming-2007-02-05.tar.gz ( I have uploaded all of my submissions from this archive - Johnny Automatic/John Olsen)

Johnny, I think this accounts for many, right?

yes, only stuff that isn't up is the stuff that isn't struck through on the authorlist http://openclipart.org/wiki/Authorlist. If the remaining ones can be imported through an automated process that would be great. Maybe just the 3 authors listed above should be finished up manually since they are maybe mid-way through the process.

chovynz (chovynz) wrote :

I guess you guys want me to stop adding manually?
I am up to Caleb Moore. I am halfway through and will be finished on his work tomorrow.

rejon (rejon) wrote :

Well, if you can complete quick, then maybe better to just keep on that path.

How many days you think to do?

j4p4n - your problem would be a different one than the movement of old clipart from the original OCAL site. That was 0.17 - You are talking about about files on OCAL 1.0

Some others have reported that not all of their clipart is showing from that site. It seems it is all there but some records may be damaged or links broken.

j4p4n (stupidjunkhole) wrote :

Uhm, yeah I have missing clipart from waaaaay back in the day (I gave up on those a long time ago), but now I was just talking about missing remixes and stuff from the site one previous to this (specifically I know I had a kwanzaa kinara candle thing that isn't online now etc) ... any word on those?

So, I've heard rumours that we can add them automatically. Which way are we going to do this, because I refuse to do something manually, when we can do it automatically. I'd rather use my time wisely, than do something that can be done quickly and automatically.

Can we do it automatically? If yes, who can do it, and how can we do it?
If no, then it's manually added right? In that case, any of the Librarians can do it, using the Anonymous Admin account. I'd be happy to continue doing it manually, but only after the method is confirmed.
