running update has caused my system to boot to terminal only.

ran update. some issues with medibuntu and potentially nvidia drivers. now can only boot to terminal

I suspect lightdm issue - switch to gdm (sudo apt-get install gdm)

Thanks for the speedy reply! That got me my desktop back, but now the
resolution is very low(640x480). I'll see if I can figure it out from here
but any further input would be greatly appreciated!
