[unity][12.04]multiple unity lenses/scopes crash upon login

Fresh installation of Ubuntu Precise 12.04

Added repository for ppa:scopes-packagers/ppa.

Installed multiple unity lenses/scopes:
 unity-scope-spotify
 unity-scope-shotwell
 unity-scope-graphicdesign
 ... and others, unity-scope-contacts-google and others from other repositories.

Upon system login, multiple crash reports immediately generated, all scopes failing with add-apt-repository error or some scope/lens function called and failed.

attached is one example crash log.

The shotwell crash emfields linked is due to that photo.db does not exists and the scope tries to make a backup of this file. Attached patch fixes this.

Just saw that the shotwell crash was already addressed in another bug.

E.m.fields, can you post similar crash logs for the other scopes?

This seems like a simple enough patch for the shotwell scope? When can we expect this to be pushed to main ppa so individual patches won't come down to a new user having to download source, patch and re-compile something that takes the developers 5 mins to do??
