It would be awesome if we could do time calculations, or metric units

etc.

this could be achieved using the wolfram alpha API's. Only problem is, they are only free for personal/experimental use. For commercial use you need a license... maybe someone could negotiate seen as its for a good cause :)

I've already tried a few months back (not for this specific scope) with Wolfram Alpha (sent mail, then negative answer).
Wouldn't hurt to try again, but there certainly is an other API dealing with metric units. I will look into it.
