onboard resets to english layout

Bug Description

If in Ubuntu 11.10 Gnome session only one keyboard layout is set (Slovenian in case of my son), Onboard ignores it and defaults to english layout (it worked good in 10.04 LTS).
A workaround is to set at least two layouts. Then Onboard uses the active one.
No big deal, but it's a nuisance especially when a real handicapped person is using it and has to figure it out...

I can confirm this in Ubuntu 12.04 too. Sometimes the layout changes to german, but most tims I have the english layout. And I can't verfiy until now when it is switching to german

I can confirm this also for the snapshot version. The snapshot starts in german, but changes to english if I type.

If I type with a regular usb keyboard the Onboard layout switches back to german.
