pop-up box gets in the way

Bug Description

I find that applications which have pop-up suggestions, for example the search text box in Firefox, gets in the way of typing on the virtual keyboard. Each keystroke clears the pop-up, then I have to repeat the character to get it into the box, and then the pop-up comes back. So, I need to type each character twice.

I'd blame the application, but this comes up so much that there should be a way to handle this in onboard. Continuing the example of Firefox, I can turn off search suggestions, but there's still a pop-up for the search engine to use and the search I'm currently doing.

Mint 17.3 Xfce on HP Slate 500.

Thanks for your time.

Setting the Input event source to XInput should solve the problem.

You can find that option in the Advanced tab of the Keyboard section in the Preferences dialog of Onboard.

Thank you, Francesco. Looks like that option is on by default.

I suppose another way to think of this is that, even though the option to "Force window to the top" is set, the Firefox pop-up menu is on top of the onboard keyboard.

I've turned off as much of Firefox's pop-ups as I can, and I think that will have to be the best I can do.
