Bug Description

I used OCS agent 2.1.01 and OCS server 2.1RC1 on windows XP SP3.
I tried to inventory a virtual machine running on VMware player running windows XP SP3.
The host use a AMD athlon II X3 455 at 3.31 gHz
OCS reports correctly the processor description but x86 architecture, 32 bit data width and adresse width and only 1 core, that is the actual environnement of windows Xp but not the reality.

There is also no serial number. This information is neither available on a physical machine (not VM).

Hi,

As I understand, your VM only has 1 vCPU configured ?

What's the out put of command "wmic cpu list" ?

If you've only configured one vCPU into VMWare Player, Windows will see the right CPU name (AMD athlon II X3 455), but it will only see one core.

VMWare allows you to emulate CPU and cores, and to mask all hosts ressources to guest, including OCS :-(

You're right Didier !

result of wmic cpu list :

It's working on real PC and when the VM use several core they are correctly reported in OCS

Sorry for the mistake.

But I find another issue, no serial number of the processor are reported, why ?

Because OCS does not retreive processor serial number ;-)

Is it something you need ?

At this time I don't need it, but I find it strange that an existing field is not used by the agent
