Convert to Task button has been removed in project_issue_view.xml (rev 6898)

We would like it to be back...

Hello,

This was removed for simplification reason of views when doing 6.1 -> 7. We prefer to avoid unnecessary buttons.
We have judged this feature was not so useful for standard. Usually when you want to create a new task from a problem reported in an issue, there will be little in common (change title, description, partner if internal,...).
On the issue form, you have a field "Task" from which you can create a related task (with default value to set to same project).

So except if you give me a valid reason to put it back, I will set it as won't fix and reject the merge proposal.
Also I have noticed the code to convert is still in openerp but never called so I will remove it in trunk.

I have a use case where the Task is used as the report documenting the Issue resolution, such as a on-site visit.
The Task header is mostly irrelevant, and is copied from the Issue; the relevant data is inn the Description of the work done and the time spent.

I created the module "project_issue_task", to make this more user-friendly: it adds the Task button, keeps a "related to issue" information on the Task, and automatically closes the Issue when the Task is closed.

Yes I think the best is to keep it in a custom module.
As long as the conversion code is in openerp (removed in trunk, won't do it in 7.0), you just need to modify the view,
