can't compile nxhtml/html-chklnk.el

Bug Description

I get the following error when byte compiling nxhtml/html-chklnk.el:55:30:Error: Wrong type argument: stringp, nil

That happens on emacs24 on both Ubuntu and Mac OS X

It's wants to load "w32shell" which does not exist. This code probably needs to be refactored for non-windows users. But I doubt byte-compiling it adds much anyway, so it's probably safe to ignore.

Thanks Andrzej and Tim. I think the problems you are seeing are two different problems. I am trying to find out why things does not work in Emacs 24, but so far I have not been able to understand what happens.

Regarding the w32shell problem I have never heard about it before. Which version of Emacs are you using, Tim?
