X Server Crashes While Typing

This has happened to me twice. Today (8-Jul-2010) was the second time and the previous time was a week ago. I do not use this computer daily. Both times I was typing and then:

The first time I was typing into empathy IM and the second time (which I remember very clearly) I pressed Enter on a firefox web page.
