2009-02-28 16:38:22 Dean Loros description I just updated my Jaunty install with the new nVidia driver (180.35) and when I let the system sleep with gnome screensaver, I can not wake the system with key press or mouse movement. I tried several different settings without success & then installed Xscreensaver to see if it was any different....Xscreensaver will sleep & resume correctly, but will create 10's of processes of the chosen saver app which will slow the system to a crawl withing 8~10 hours, requiring a mass kill of the savers app(s). This is only slightly better that not working as intended--I can re-enable gnome-screensaver & provide any output needed. Description: Ubuntu jaunty (development branch) Release: 9.04 gnome-screensaver: Installed: 2.24.0-0ubuntu4 Candidate: 2.24.0-0ubuntu4 Version table: *** 2.24.0-0ubuntu4 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status xscreensaver: Installed: 5.07-0ubuntu3 Candidate: 5.07-0ubuntu3 Version table: *** 5.07-0ubuntu3 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status I realize that there are mutiple elements to this bug report--I'm starting here as this is where it showed up first. I will note that Gnome-screensaver was working well for me prior to the driver update.
