Bug Description
If i lock the desktop (win+L) and wait until the monitor switches to standby, i am not able to resume the desktop by pressing a key or moving the mouse. Only by switching tty (ctrl+alt+f7) i get to the login screen again. However, if I do this the desktop looks corrupted (see attached screenshot).
This problem is reproducible by using the live version of ubuntu and installing the nvidia driver, after a restart the problem occurs.
I am also facing this problem on ubuntu gnome. Moreover I tested lightdm and gdm3 and different driver version: nvidia driver 340, 361, 364 (from graphics-drivers ppa).
Only using nouveau fixes the problem :/
Im using ubuntu 16.04 and the problem only occurs when using display port and can be reproduced by using:
xset dpms force standby
