No Scrobbling from Nuvola Player; Songs Do Not Appear in Notifications

I use Nuvola as my main access to Google Music on an Ubuntu (12.10 and 13.04) machine. When the song changes, instead of the notification telling me about the next song it merely shows the Nuvola icon and version. Furthermore, despite numerous attempts to unauthorise and reauthorise last.fm access, it no longer scrobbles; nothing shows up as having been played on the last.fm page.

i think both of these may be symptoms, as opposed to bugs in and of themselves. Most likely, Play music changes their backend somehow, and the method by which nuvola grabs track info is no longer in use by the web player. I'll post some screenshots from my laptop.

the latest service update package - Google Play 3.16 [1]?

I was not, although I installed it when I saw your note. While it seemed to have no effect at first, after a restart it seems to be working again. Thanks a lot for that - this has been troubling me for months!
