Launchkey and Launchpad - extra features?

I'm really happy with my Launchkey 49 mk3, but I'm considering getting a Launchpad Pro mk3 as well. I'd definitely like to pick up some piano skills, but I'm a total noob at the moment.

I pretty much work in the box with Midi and plugins, and primarily with Reaper, but I'll probably use Ableton eventually too. I don't think I'll add any hardware synths at this point, but I would like to be able to use my DDJ1000 in my workflow too. It has Ableton link, but I haven't heard great things, and I've not got it working at all into Reaper.

Driven by Moss works great on my Launchkey btw.

I'm just wondering what extra functionality I'm going to get with both devices? More pads obviously, the note mode looks really useful, and it has all of the extra channels that look easily accessible - I'm hoping to map them to custom actions as well as having an extra device for session mode.

I'd like to produce something I guess, and I'd also like to put together some mixes, live and maybe edited too. I also like to just play with sounds.

I might even use it for a bit of video editing too if it works, not a deal breaker if I have to edit on KB + M.

Has anyone got any stories or advice on what value a LaunchPad will add?
