Bug Description
Hi,
I recently bought the Launch Control XL, and it’s really good. I’ve learnt how to use Ableton Live (I used to use Logic Pro), but I’m looking at getting a launchpad to play clips in Ableton. I don’t really want to use it as a drum pad or instrument as I already have the Akai MPK Mini Play, and am looking at getting a Akai MPD218 to use for finger drumming, as I think the launchpad Pads will be too small to finger drum.
I can get a new Launchpad Mini MK3 for around $USD120 on Amazon. Or I can get a 2nd hand LaunchPad MK2 for around $USD85 on Facebook. Would it be better to buy the new LP Mini or the older LP?
Also, I’m deciding between the Presonus Atom and the Akai MPD218 for finger drumming, which do you think is better? Or any other good ones to consider.
TIA
Edit: Probably should’ve said that the Launchpad Pro MK3 and the Launchpad X MK3 are out of my budget.
For the launchpad, the decision between the Launchpad Mini MK3 and the LaunchPad MK2 depends on your budget and preference for new or used equipment. The Mini MK3 is newer with updated features, while the MK2 is more affordable and proven.
Regarding finger drumming, both the Presonus Atom and Akai MPD218 are popular options. The Atom is designed specifically for finger drumming with features like pressure-sensitive pads and integration with Studio One. The MPD218 is known for its compatibility with various software, including Ableton Live. Consider factors like pad sensitivity, layout, and software integration to decide which suits your needs best.
