Bug Description

Hello Florent,

I just installed a clean copy of Ubuntu 10.10 to dual boot with my Windows 7 and the process has gone smoothly till now. I want my storage partition to be available at all times but when I install your software to do this it does not launch properly. I get no errors anywhere during installation nor at an attempt to launch. At launch Ubuntu asks me to authenticate, I enter the password, the dialog box goes away and nothing happens. I have all the current Ubuntu updates at the time of this writing but I also understand that Maverick just came out today and things are going to be dicey. I thought I would let you know in case the problem lies on your end of the code. Believe me when I say I am not angry, I have used NTFS-config multiple times in the past without issue, and will wait patiently for a fix. thanks for your hard work.

I have exactly the same problem with 10.10.

I have tried launching it from the terminal and I did get some errors there. I'll paste it here as soon as I get home. Hope it helps.

  File "/usr/bin/ntfs-config", line 75, in main
    app = NtfsConfig()
  File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/NtfsConfig/NtfsConfig.py", line 56, in __init__
    os.mkdir(HAL_CONFIG_DIR)
OSError: [Errno 2] No existe el archivo o directorio: '/etc/hal/fdi/policy'

in english last line says: file or directory does not exist.

Basically it says that Ubuntu 10.10 (and also 10.04) does not use hal, and the workaround given is to directly edit the fstab file.
