Bug Description

Integration with Blender will ease the workflow of graphic pros working on stuff which includes a lot of 3D like Sci-Fi

OpenShot currently has this type of integration and Blender API is fairly easy to deal with :P

Agreed, this is something very useful to aim for. I set the priority to "low" for now simply because we need basic editing working before this makes sense... but this is high priority for things like Sci-Fi (like Pioneer One, woot!).

Will raise priority when other features needed are in place.

importance: Undecided → Low

I'm suspecting you haven't studied how openshot does this.

It launches blender in a separate process, throws a pre-made .blend file (and/or blender script?) as an argument and then *scrapes the output being printed on the terminal*. It's a huge hack, not a clean usage of a blender "library" (there is no such thing afaik). The openshot dev freely admits it :)

Making a clean library out of it is one of the "far in the future, if someone shows up to do it" projects on pitivi's roadmap. But a very low priority project given the specialized use case and the difficulty of the task.
