hmmm, i'll look into this. and this is something you've only noticed on quantal, not on precise?

Josh Melling (jsmmelling) wrote :

I haven't seen anything like this in Precise to date.

Okay, that screenshot helps. We were experiencing artifacts like this from x264enc when the timestamps weren't correct, which I thought we had fixed.

I'm working on having good automated tests for all of this stuff, so it should be easier to prevent regressions like this.

Alright cool, just thought it was worth filing a bug.

Josh,

So I haven't been able to reproduce this. When exactly in the render does this occur?

David and I have noticed that totem seems to do something funky on the last frame during playback, so you're left with a frame with artifacts at the very end. Is that the bug you observed, or was your issue something else?

Are you running the daily builds? Are your input videos all from Canon HDSLR?

Josh Melling (jsmmelling) wrote :

Hey Jason,

I had artifacts through out the render (the screenshot was taken in the middle of a clip). I've been running the daily build, and yes I'm all my input videos are from a Canon HDSLR. Totem played my raw video fine so I had not thought to test another player.

I have not been able to reproduce the bug in Precsie, so I thought it must be related to a Qauntal package. ATM i'm doing a clean install of my Qauntal mahcine, so i'll try again when I'm finished.
