nova document search result links not working

The resulting links from the nova document search aren't working.

For example, searching for cross_az_attach here:

https://docs.openstack.org/nova/latest/search.html?q=cross_az_attach

Yields a few links but clicking on them gives a 404, e.g.:

https://docs.openstack.org/nova/latest/admin/availability-zonesundefined?highlight=cross_az_attach

If you replace that "undefined" with ".html" it works.

Smells like a Sphinx bug

yep that is totally broken there may have been a sphinx theme update or a similar chagne.
looking brifly at the nova tree im not seeing anyting that jobs out at me as a recent commit that could cause this.

the last change to the tox file related to docs was 4 months ago and that was for constratis files.

this is the one im must supicious of wehre we added pdf doc links but that is just a guess

sphinx also had a release on august 14th

so ya it could be a
Sphinx 3.2.1 change.

i think this is the bug https://github.com/sphinx-doc/sphinx/pull/7278?
maybe that was fixed in 3.0.0b1

that said we shoudl be using 3.2.1
