Instance Console Crashes : Unable to enter credentials at Instance Console

Bug Description

Proof of Concept

After I spawn an instance I click on the instance . Then I will click the console tab . The Instance Console loads and I get a shell prompt asking for login/password .

After I enter few keystrokes it doesn't print anything in the login prompt . After pressing some more keys constantly , it start showing syslog messages and doesnt show the login prompt anymore

I am using chrome as a browser . This issue is also there when I tested from firefox . Check the image attached

I can reproduce this if I press any of my special keys from my spanish keyboard like ñ with a spanish layout.

Changing my keyboard layout to english makes it work with every key on my keyboard.

Which keyboard layout are you using?

I am using a english layout keyboard . Are you using from linux or windows system ?

Yeah, retested several times and I can reproduce it. A long as I press a key not in the en_US keymap, it wont work.

Can you confirm if its the same and your keyboard layout?

Alos, horizon has nothing to do with this Im afraid, we just put what nova vnc gives us in an iframe, so in any case the bug should be reported there.

Qemu will default use en-us keyboard layout for vnc.
Cay you try to modify nova config, add keymap option in vnc group like following:
[vnc]
keymap=es

Then restart your nova-compute service.
Hard reboot your instance and verify whether this issue had been fixed.

Not sure why I can change this, but I've bumped it back to Confirmed. Shouldnt we wait for Infra to move to In Progress when the patch is submitted with a "Closes-Bug: ####" ?

Also removing Horizon, since it doesn't appear to be our issue.
