What kind of metadata do you think should be stored? I'm not even sure if it's possible to change this metadata without rebooting a VM, at least via libvirt:

Speaking about libvirt once more (because that's what I'm familiar with), is there actually any value in changing the metadata from a cloud administrators perspective, i.e. our users?

Marking this as a duplicate as the only field the OP suggested needed covering has already been requested in another (older) bug.
