Instances table doesn't get cleaned up

It seems like nova doesn't do any cleanup of the instances table. If you spin up and delete lots of VMs, this table eventually gets gigantic.

Manually it can be cleaned using: `nova-manage db archive_deleted_rows 10000` but an auto-cleanup of stale entries would be useful too.

There has been discussion of this for a while. I wouldn't be surprised to discover there is a blueprint or other bugs for this.

it's similar and bug #1226049 is talking about instance system metadata , from the the description in this bug mainly about instances itself , not sure someone is working on it or not...
