Appears to be a bug with the Nouveau drivers (assertion failed).

Please try running the following command:

env LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=true performous

This forces CPU rendering (disables GPU 3D rendering), by Mesa with llvmpipe (on modern systems), which is still quite fast and supports newer OpenGL versions than some old graphics cards.

Please indicate if this does n̲o̲t̲ fix the issue for you; otherwise, I’ll close the bug here.
