edge swipe not functional while app is open

Bug Description
I opened the Notes app and then all off the edge swipe functionality to open any menus except the apps own menu at the bottom was lost. That includes the go back swipe gesture etc. The only way to escape the app was to reset the phone.

@Ezra: is this something you can reliably reproduce? I’m not able to observe the issue here on my device.
