Bug Description

Hi,

I am using the latest daily version of Noise (from the ppa, noise_0.3.0+r1665+pkg85~ubuntu0.3.1_amd64), on Freya beta 1.

The application fails to start, with this error on the terminal:
[_LOG_LEVEL_INFO 10:40:59.173642] Application.vala:155: Music version: 0.3.0
[_LOG_LEVEL_INFO 10:40:59.173708] Application.vala:157: Kernel version: 3.13.0-35-generic
Failed to register: Timeout was reached

Hi,

When running noise with the debug option, here is the output:

[_LOG_LEVEL_INFO 21:40:52.422199] Application.vala:155: Music version: 0.3.0
[_LOG_LEVEL_INFO 21:40:52.422261] Application.vala:157: Kernel version: 3.13.0-35-generic
[_LOG_LEVEL_DEBUG 21:40:52.423266] [Gtk] Connecting to session manager
[_LOG_LEVEL_DEBUG 21:40:52.425702] Settings.vala:158: Loading settings from schema 'org.pantheon.noise.settings'
[_LOG_LEVEL_WARN 21:40:52.541388] FileOperator.vala:112: Could not pre-scan music folder. Progress percentage may be off: Permission denied

Running as root, I have:

[_LOG_LEVEL_INFO 21:43:38.964453] Application.vala:155: Music version: 0.3.0
[_LOG_LEVEL_INFO 21:43:38.964514] Application.vala:157: Kernel version: 3.13.0-35-generic
[_LOG_LEVEL_DEBUG 21:43:38.968804] [Gtk] Connecting to session manager
[_LOG_LEVEL_DEBUG 21:43:38.970727] Settings.vala:158: Loading settings from schema 'org.pantheon.noise.settings'

In both cases, it just hangs on the terminal and doesn't start neither.

OK, I got it working. It seems that because I deleted my Music folder, it reverted to my user home folder as the default music folder.
Therefore, I suspect it is trying to scan my home folder with all its files in it, which takes time and timeout.

I modified music-folder setting in org.pantheon.noise.settings with dconf-editor to another empty folder (i.e., Desktop), and it launched fine.

I'm also have the same issue, I tried changing the dconf settings for org.pantheon.noise.settings and setting my music folder to well my Music folder (which is empty) and it fails to start. However I can start the app using sudo.
