Make suggestions for typos in search box [$50]

Slingshot should have some kind of mechanism for dealing with typos.

If I type "Srcatch" for example, Scratch should still appear in the search results.

Actually, thinking about it, is there any way we can do this in Granite's searchbar?

Search suggestions depend heavily on backend-specific stuff, and also on how the applications manage their contents. I guess that granite is targeted here just for the UI-side implementation, like showing a dropdown menu, or an info screen. It would be nice to have a dropdown search-suggestion API in our current search entry (a reason for not deprecating the widget after Luna).

I'm taking a shot at this, while it won't be a suggestion per-se i can improve the resistance to typos somewhat so it can suggest some matching programs anyway

I'm considering trying my hand at this, but is it still needed? Or will a Synapse plugin solve this?
