Bug Description
It help facilitate squashing of bugs, could a recording of the player's input stream be made, so that the devs could recreate the bug? This would allow you to verify that the bug is fixed by the new patch. It could also could allow time trials, where one tries to race a ghost through a level.

That's a very nice idea. And technically it seems quite doable as well.
Replays could also be used to objectively verify high-scores. That would be needed if we wanted to allow uploading of the player's high-scores -- to prevent cheating.
