Bug Description

Reported to me via email by Jonathan H.

Email content below:
Hi there! I can't see how to submit a new bug, so I'm contacting you
directly.

To cut a long story short... basically, it looks like nginx-extras is
not using the latest 1.7.8-compatible ngx_cache_purge module, which
causes segmentation faults in certain conditions. See

http://forum.nginx.org/read.php?2,255522
and
https://github.com/FRiCKLE/ngx_cache_purge/issues/25

Hopefully this has finally ended up at the right person! Thanks.

Thanks for adding that - you know, I looked everywhere and I couldn't find the "report a bug" link on either the repo or your profile.
Have bookmarked for next time.

Jonathan H: The PPA doesn't have a 'Report Bug' link, and my profile works with multiple projects so it doesn't have a Report Bug link either. The project on Launchpad is 'Nginx' and that's where to report issues with the PPA(s).

In the mean time, fixes have been committed to the staging PPA for building. Hopefully nothing explodes during build.

As soon as I can copy them over to the main nginx mainline PPA, I'll do so and mark this "Fix Released". Within 30 minutes or so after that, the binaries should be in the Mainline PPA for general use.

In the mean time... breakfast.

Thanks for the rapid response, @teward.
Not sure how long it takes to filter through the whole repo process though... any idea how long before this becomes apt-get update-able?

Again, many thanks.

Fantastic - and I'm please to report that the line
fastcgi_cache_purge
no longer kills nginx.

Again, many thanks for the rapid response.
