nexenta fails install at "installing st, module id 230"

Bug Description
I attempted to install NexentaCore on an old PC I have laying around from an InstallCD.
On initial attempts, installation would hang on:
"Hostname: hardy_installcd"
After council from irc, I followed these instructions:

Kernel modules seemed to load fine until 'drv/st', and computer hangs at:
"installing st, module id 230"
The system has 384MB of RAM, a CDROM, and ethernet. I believe it's a PIII processor.
