I'm sorry but I don't believe that I can. I don't even remember whether the passwords really did differ.

Sorry -- next time I'll file a more complete bug report (which would require changing my password, in this case). :-)

Confirmed on Nexenta Core 2.0 release.

The password at the start was "password!".

$ passwd aboutblank
Enter existing login password: password!
New Password: password@
passwd: The first -17101680 characters of the old and new passwords must differ by at least 3 positions.
