Bug Description

Hi,

Deployment guides for neutron openvswitch instruct to install packages but fails to mention their names and the reader has to guess which precise packages are meant; in my case for rdo. Here are occurrences of the problem:

In https://docs.openstack.org/neutron/zed/admin/deploy-ovs-provider.html, section "Example configuration" / "Controller node", step 1:
"Install the Networking service components that provide the neutron-server service and ML2 plug-in."

In the same page, section "Example configuration" / "Compute nodes", step 1:
"Install the Networking service OVS layer-2 agent, DHCP agent, and metadata agent."

In https://docs.openstack.org/neutron/zed/admin/deploy-ovs-selfservice.html, section "Example configuration" / "Network node", step 1:
"Install the Networking service OVS layer-2 agent and layer-3 agent."

/Nicolas

Did you go through the install section?

https://docs.openstack.org/neutron/zed/install/index.html

In there are links to the different distros along with commands and package names for each one.

For example, the guide for controller node install for an OVS provider config on RDO is:

https://docs.openstack.org/neutron/zed/install/controller-install-option1-rdo.html

Let me know if that answers your questions.

I should have mentioned: I am not interested in a linuxbridge setup. I am looking to install an openvswitch networking setup.

If you go to the latest documentation you'll see it's been updated for antelope cycle to have openvswitch examples:
