Hello,

Please provide more information about your setup and exact error you are getting.

Most probably I suspect issue with either OVS version or you may need additional patch configuration ( https://review.openstack.org/#/c/311509/). Assuming all the configuration is properly set.

Let me know if this resolves your issue.

Thanks,
Vijendra Soni

I found the solution. The solution is to install ovs python package. In my setup ovs package is not there so at this step it is unable to find the specific ovs and so it hanged. Running devstack after installation of ovs solves my problem

Thanks
mahesh

I have the ovs package installed on my machine, but still it is getting stuck.

The version is as follow:

$ ovs-vswitchd --version
ovs-vswitchd (Open vSwitch) 2.5.0
Compiled Sep 27 2016 15:47:00

localrc file:
enable_service s-proxy s-object s-container s-account
disable_service n-net
enable_service q-svc
enable_service q-agt
enable_service q-dhcp
enable_service q-l3
enable_service q-meta
enable_service q-metering

I tried executing the command separately, with no success. The neutron repo i cloned is on origin/mitaka branch, same for devstack.

Please help
Thanks

Description is too vague. Could you attach logs to verify and inspect, what could go wrong?

I'm facing the exact same issue. Installation gets stuck during ovs bridge cleanup

I'm getting same behavior. Branch being used is mitaka stable. I installed OVS 2.5 before installing devstack. On running stack.sh, OVS cleanup is successful, however installation gets stuck at:
+lib/neutron_plugins/ovs_base:_neutron_ovs_base_configure_l3_agent:109 sudo ovs-vsctl br-set-external-id br-ex bridge-id br-ex

This bug is old and the scripts in devstack are much different than they used to be. Since I have not seen a failure like this in a long time marking Invalid, please re-open if necessary.
