Hey Armando, we currently rely heavily on this feature to run diagnostics for networking issues on VMs. The use of probes on networks simplifies troubleshooting. Is there anyway to keep this around?

Jas: the intention is to provide an equivalent mechanism. We don't intend to leave users high and dry with no ability to 'see' what's going on in their networks. Please keep an eye on [1], and please consider providing input on it.

Having said that, would you mind sharing a bit more on your use of neutron-debug? It'll help us a lot.

    Deprecate neutron-debug

    We will not follow the typical deprecation cycle and thus we will
    not remove this in the release after the deprecation is advertised.

    Nonetheless we want to signal the need for a more comprehensive set
    of tools and APIs that will eventually make people want to move away
    from the limitations of neutron-debug.

This issue was fixed in the openstack/neutron 9.0.0.0b1 development milestone.
