error when Populate the database Neutron on controller node

Bug Description

I am following the Openstack documentation http://docs.openstack.org/mitaka/install-guide-ubuntu/neutron-controller-install.html for installing Openstack on Ubuntu server 14.04. there is an instruction to finalize the installation of Neutron on the controller node with the following command;

# su -s /bin/sh -c "neutron-db-manage --config-file /etc/neutron/neutron.conf \
  --config-file /etc/neutron/plugins/ml2/ml2_conf.ini upgrade head" neutron

However, I get the following error;

This means you do not have the 'connection' option of the [database] group configured. Please check your config files.

Were you able to solve the issue? I am also facing the same problem. However database option are set in my /etc/neutron/neutron.conf file.

Hi,

The problem is in /etc/neutron/neutron.conf, in section [database] yo must uncomment this line: connection = sqlite:////var/lib/neutron/neutron.sqlite

I solved the problem so.

This bug is > 180 days without activity. We are unsetting assignee and milestone and setting status to Incomplete in order to allow its expiry in 60 days.

If the bug is still valid, then update the bug status.
